Video explainer: Why Harley-Davidson is exiting India

Updated : September 24, 2020 09:38 PM IST

One of the main reasons for Harley-Davidson's India exit is low sales. Compared to over 58,000 units sold in North America in the first six months of 2020, the company sold just over 25,000 units in India in 10 years.

The exit is part of a global restructuring strategy to exit non-performing markets. However, the company is still talking to Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra and Bajaj Auto for a possible strategic tie up.

CNBC-TV18's Parikshit Luthra explains why the iconic American motorcycle maker has finally decided to exit the Indian market.
