Skoda unveiled its all-new premium hatchback, Scala.
Scala is larger than rival hatchbacks and is based on the new MQB-A0 platform
It features a floating touchscreen (6.5, 8.0 or 9.2 inches) with LED head and tail lights, ambient lighting, nine airbags and a host of safety features like adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, blind spot monitoring.
The Scala offers five engine options.
The petrol variants are 1.0 TSI with 95 PS and 115 PS, 1.5 TSI with 150 PS. The diesel variants are 1.6 TDI with 115 PS and 250 NM.
A 1.0 litre CNG fuelled motor will also be available putting out 90 PS. The base petrol variant will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
All other engines get 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission.
Three trims will be available in UK with features like a panoramic sunroof, an eight-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi hotspot, 3D satellite navigation, wireless smartphone charging, 64GB of internal SSD storage and downloadable apps for the infotainment system.
