Amidst the worst slowdown in the automotive industry, the Federation of Automobile Dealers (FADA) on Friday said there is a slight uptick in sales of passenger vehicles ahead of the festive season.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Ashish Harsharaj Kale, president, said, “Overall, we have seen a pickup in inquiries across segments. In most of the areas, monsoon has started receding in the past 10 days or so, and we have seen a very good pickup."
Talking on freebies, he said, "The discount schemes that are on currently are one of the best in recent times and even in recent years that dealers have seen. We can see the banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) coming back to our dealership counters and discussing aggressive retail targets, which is happening after a few months. All in all, a very good positive."
"Coming to overall passenger vehicle, the inventory has come down in the last few months,” he added.
