Mercedes-Benz India, the top luxury-car company in the country, said it is eyeing 25 percent of online purchases by 2025.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18's Overdrive team, Martin Schwenk, managing director and chief executive officer, said, "We know in India we have very tech-savvy consumers and customers. Never mind whatever age bracket they move in, they are all leaning towards technical and IT-driven solutions, so we know it is important to go into both these elements. We offer very comprehensive solutions."
"We feel there is a need for people to actually transact and purchase or book a car online and that is why we have implemented a system together with American company called Roadster Inc," he said, adding that, "With this company, we have set up a very smooth and sleek simple system with which one can search for new cars, pre-owned cars and accessories."
