After government increased load carrying capacity of trucks by up to 25 percent, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles said their trucks won't be affected by the government notification.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Vinod Aggarwal, managing director and chief executive officer, said, "As far as higher tonnage trucks are concerned, 37 tonne or tractor trailers, I think there will be an impact."
However, the move is a good for long run, because it will help the industry to modernise and the customers will benefit, said Aggarwal.
Talking about business, he said, "Till the time, the new trucks are available, the customers will have to continue buying the existing trucks. So to that extent, I do not expect any impact on the commercial vehicle (CV) demand for the time being."
