Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, has said that he saw no evidence of an increase in the demand and that the company may not be back at its full capacity anytime soon.
“I am personally anxious about what is going to happen to demand after the festive season because I frankly don’t see any tangible evidence of this move in motorcycles, at least from the public to personal mobility. I think what we are seeing in India unlike what we are seeing in some of our export markets is purely pent-up demand coming back," said Bajaj.
While speaking about production activity, he said, “It is not like Bajaj Auto is going to be back at full capacity starting August or September, so I would assume this is the case for the industry and many industries."
Bajaj Auto's July sales declined over 8 percent compared to the last month.
