Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday said the company expects the new Ertiga to clock better sales than the previous model.
"The company is ready with the production capacity to meet the demand. Post the opening of the booking, we have received about 10,000 bookings, said RS Kalsi, executive director - marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki.
The country's largest carmaker on Wednesday launched a new version of its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Ertiga priced between Rs 7.44 lakh and Rs 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The car has more style, more comfort, more spacious and better performance with K15 engine, which gives about 13 percent more power and therefore increased fuel efficiency of about 10 percent, Kalsi told CNBC-TV18.
With aggressive pricing and impressive model, the sales are expected to go up, he added.
On market share of the MPV segment, Kalsi said there is competition but they are the leaders and hope to maintain 50 percent market share in this segment.
