General Motors has unveiled its electric bicycle, Arīv. It comes in two variants - the meld (compact e-bike) and the merge (folding e-bike)
It will be launched first in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The pricing for Belgium and the Netherlands
The meld starts at under $3,200, the merge starts at $3,800. Prices are slightly lower in Germany. It can travel at a speed of up to 25 km/hr with four levels of pedal-assisted power.
It has a Lithium-ion powered battery which allows 64 kms travel on a single charge and charges in about 3.5 hours.
It comes with safety components like integrated, rechargeable front and rear led safety lights and oversized brake rotors to increase stopping power.
The merge is a foldable bike and can be rolled on its wheels when folded. Both bikes have a 'walk' mode to allow users on foot to move the bikes easily
It can 'connect' via bluetooth with the Arīv app which displays speed, distance, battery level, motor assist level and total distance travelled.
