Truck and bus maker Ashok Leyland on Monday launched three new truck variants in intermediate and medium commercial vehicle segment as it seeks to fill product gaps.
The Chennai-based company has launched the Guru 1010 in the intermediate commercial vehicle (ICV) segment and Boss 1616 and Boss 1916 in the medium-duty vehicles (MDV) segment.
"ICV is a growing segment and we have seen a 30 percent growth this year and we expect it to be the hub and spoke model keeps on maturing. Next year is the pre-buy year, so I expect further growth in this segment," said Anuj Kathuria, president, of global trucks, Ashok Leyland.
The company has a robust portfolio as far as the BS-IV portfolio is considered, he said, adding that Ashok Leyland has launched the 16-wheel vehicle which was the first in the market and it comes along with many unique features which ensure better profitability for the customer.
