India is witnessing the worst locust attack in over 26 years according to experts. Five states, namely Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, and Punjab are severely hit while Vidharba in Maharashtra, Mathura in northern UP, and New Delhi haven’t been spared.
Rajesh Aggarwal, managing director of Insecticides India is in conversation with CNBC-TV18 shed light on their business impact due to these attacks.
“These are important states, it starts from Rajasthan coming down to Madhya Pradesh (MP), Gujarat, and then the further states. This includes almost 30-40 percent of Insecticides India’s business. These are the most important states from an agricultural perspective. If I include Maharashtra then maybe about 50 percent of the company’s total market is this, so it is a very important market.”
