HAL is investing in R&D for 12 tonne category of helicopters, these choppers may replace MIG-17s, says CMD R Madhavan

HAL has identified several countries for exports in parts of Asia, Africa and also the United States of America, said CMD R Madhavan.
The company is also looking at bigger projects, some of them are through DRDO like LCA Mark 2, Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), the HAL CMD said.
HAL's most of the projects till now we have been handling through our own internal resources, said Madhavan.
