Zee Entertainment Enterprises is set to convert all its free-to-air (FTA) channels to pay channels, which will be available as part of the pay bouquet or at an MRP, The Economic Times reported.
Once effective, channels including Zee Anmol, Zee Anmol Cinema, Zee News, Big Magic etc will not be available in the FTA bouquet in cable and DTH services, the report said citing a company source.
However, these channels will be available for free on Prasar Bharati’s DD FreeDish, triggering various DTH and cable service providers to move to the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal, the report said.
The move comes of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s August 31 deadline deadline to announce MRP for television channels.
