With the Reliance Jio GigaFiber rollout being underway, the priority is given to those cities that have the maximum number of registrations, Financial Express reported.
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio Infocomm announced the launch of GigaFiber in August 2018 at the company’s Annual General Meeting. Post announcement, many customers registered for the service on the company's website and are awaiting the installation process to begin, the report said.
According to various reports cited by Financial Times, Reliance will rollout Jio GigaFiber first in 29 cities. However, the reports have not been confirmed officially by the company and the timelines of the rollout are not known yet.
After the Jio GigaFiber broadband plans were leaked on the internet, competitors like Airtel, BSNL, ACT Fibernet and others upped their game by providing several offers, according to the FE report.
