The talks between the two companies were being held since past few months and that an agreement will likely be signed by the middle of this month, the report said quoting unidentified source.
Once the deal is finalised, Verizon’s customers will be able to deploy solutions on Airtel’s IoT platforms when they are in India, the report said, adding that similarly, Airtel’s customers will also be able to access Verizon’s platforms.
“With action around the development of IoT and connected devices ecosystem gathering pace, both companies may also collaborate to launch value-added services in the IoT space,” the source was quoted as saying in the report.
It is a significant development as Airtel is preparing its expansion plans ahead of the entry into the segment by rival Reliance Jio.
