US has the most number of Twitter users, India makes the top 10 list

Twitter is among the most popular social media platforms in the world, garnering nearly 330 million users worldwide by the first quarter of 2019. The platform has added 300 million users in the past 10 years, according to data portal Statista. Twitter allows users to broadcast 280-character messages called tweets to their followers. It has become an effective mode of communication as the US President Donald Trump has shown with his frequent outbursts on the platform. Here are the top 10 countries with the most number of Twitter users by the end of April.
