Global microblogging platform, Twitter, is in search for a country director to head India, reported The Economic Times.
“Twitter is seeking an experienced digital executive to lead the India market. This is a rare opportunity to take a senior role with P&L responsibility, directly leading the country sales team,” the job listing on Twitter’s career website said.
Twitter’s previous country head, Taranjeet Singh, left in September after a three-and-a-half year term amid weak advertising revenue, according to a report.
The role is to bring in an increase in its local sales presence by partnering with brands and agencies for more customer engagement on the site.
Sources told The Economic Times that Twitter’s monthly active users stand at 30-33 million. Facebook's, according to Statista, stands at 270 million. Instagram and WhatsApp, both owned by Facebook, also have significant user bases in India.
