Amazon to unveil 8 new Alexa-powered devices including microwave, says report

The firm is trying to impart the voice assistance service in to more and more daily use devices to make it more widely accepted.

The products are set be released by the end of the year.

Amazon is set to unveil at least 8 new voice-controlled hardware devices powered by Alexa before the end of 2018, according to a CNBC report.

The products include microwave oven, amplifier, receiver, subwoofer, and an in-car gadget, the report said citing an internal document describing the plans.

Amazon is expected to reveal some of these devices at an event later this month, said the report.

The move by Amazon to use Alexa in a variety of devices point towards the company's focus on making its voice assistance service more widely accepted. Initially considered to be a geek device, Alexa is now gaining wide popularity among masses, the report added.
