#BestofTweets: Celebrating the best brands and campaigns from 2020

Mini

One of the constant partners during the lockdown, enforced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was Twitter. In difficult times, Twitter became a friend for individuals, who were looking for suggestions to entertain themselves, help those in need and to order food and venture out safely without any fear of COVID-19.

One of the constant partners during the lockdown, enforced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was Twitter. In difficult times, Twitter became a friend for individuals, who were looking for suggestions to entertain themselves, help those in need and to order food and venture out safely without any fear of COVID-19.
People turned to Twitter to know what was happening across the world, how others were dealing with uncertain times, and what were they talking about the most.
That said, besides individuals, brands found a sweet spot in these conversations and used Twitter to connect with the audience through heartfelt campaigns. The trending stories and sentiments helped brands to understand the pulse of the consumers and they leveraged Twitter’s platform and ad offerings to influence and strengthen their presence among audiences.
They took to Twitter to launch new products and services that touched people’s hearts and influenced minds.
Thus, to recognize brands who made a difference through Twitter, Storyboard & Twitter presented a special episode ‘#BestofTweets-Brands Leading the way, during which best campaigns were celebrated across categories.
The brand that won the best brand for speaking out and standing up was Axis Bank for #ReverseThekhata. The heartfelt campaign captured the plight of small-scale vendors hit by the COVID-19. Axis Bank launched a campaign called #ReverseTheKhata for encouraging people to come forward and support those in need as the country geared to unlock. It stemmed from a simple, yet desi insight – a Khata as all of us know is a long-standing relationship built on trust between the user and a vendor.
Likewise, the best campaign celebrating fandom was taken by Samsung India for #GalaxyS20PlusBTS Edition. Samsung re-imagined the way they launch products. They mixed things up and launched BTS-branded Galaxy S20 Plus. It tapped into the massive K-pop and BTS fandom on Twitter and had users glued to their Twitter timelines through a series of Promoted Tweets, custom BTS quizzes and creatives featuring various members of the band.
Besides Axis Bank and Samsung India, there were six other brands that won the hearts for bringing different concepts to Twitter. To know more about the brand campaigns that stood out and their strategies, watch the episode.
