Restarting India: DPIIT Secy discusses state startup rankings and parameters
The central government has released the second edition of ranking states that support the startup ecosystem. Around 22 states and three union territories participated in the exercise and were classified into five categories.


Gujarat and Andaman have emerged as the best performers in the rankings, which evaluate the measures undertaken by each state/UT to boost the startup ecosystem. The next slot among states were taken up by Karnataka and Kerala; that have been named as top performers.

To talk more about the rankings and the parameters, CNBC-TV18’s Shereen Bhan spoke to Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Secretary Guruprasad Mohapatra.
