Instant cameras make a comeback as millennials turn to polaroids
Updated : July 26, 2018 06:24 AM IST
The first instant camera was launched in the late 40’s by the company Polaroid, which reduced the tedious and time consuming process of developing a photograph from the negative to compressing the whole process into a matter of seconds.
The 70’s retro touch to the photographs with the digital filters on the social media network, Instagram is not enough for the Gen X, resulting in the increased sales of film cameras after five years of declines in sales.
A total of 8.2 million cameras, including fixed lens and interchangeable lens cameras were shipped out in 2017.
