Reliance Industries on Wednesday announced that private equity firm Silver Lake will invest Rs 7,500 crore in its subsidiary Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL).
The investment comes 10 days after RIL announced the acquisition of the Kishore Biyani-promoted Future Group's retail, wholesale, logistics, and warehousing businesses through Reliance Retail.

  • Silver Lake will invest Rs 7,500 crore for a 1.75 percent equity stake in RRVL.
  • This investment values Reliance Retail at a pre-money equity value of Rs 4.21 lakh crore.
  • Silver Lake had earlier invested Rs 10,202.55 crore in RIL's Jio Platforms for a 2.08 percent stake in two tranches.
  • With this deal, Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail now account for over Rs 9 lakh crore of RIL's valuation.
