The last two months of the peak COVID-19 pandemic period saw one bright spot, on the deals street which continues to attract substantial foreign investments. While the rest of the real estate sector may be a witnessing a slump, commercial realty has seen growing interest from global deep-pocketed investors. And proof of this is the fact that deals worth close to $4 billion are in the pipeline. Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are creating traction, which could be one of the biggest reasons why investors are lining up.

First up, Marwaha said: "The entire office market have been on an upswing since the last five-seven years. Since 2012, we have been having quite a bull run in the office market.”
Nair added, "REITs globally is a $2 trillion asset class. In India it is only one-and-half-year old story."
