Vikas Upadhyay of the Congress is leading Rajesh Munat of the BJP in the Raipur City West seat in Chhattisgarh by 5,596 votes.
Vikas Upadhyay received 39784 votes so far, while Rajesh Munat secured 34,188 votes, according to Election Commission data. Bhojraj Gaurkhede of Bahujan Samaj Party was trailing at the third spot with 1556 votes.
Munat is the sitting MLA of Raipur City West.
The Election Commission held voting in two phases in the naxal-affected state on November 12 and November 20.
The first phase of voting covered mostly assembly seats in the Bastar division and parts of Rajnandgaon.
These polls are seen as a bellwether of the 2019 general elections.
