Parliament Highlights: Potential for spread of terror through social media higher than ever, says govt

The Opposition has demanded a discussion over the December 9 clashes between the Indian Army and China's PLA troops along the Line of Actual Control in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will brief both the Houses of Parliament on the recent clash.The face-off resulted in "minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides, the Indian Army said."On December 9, PLA troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector which was contested by own troops in a firm and resolute manner. "With a borderless cyberspace coupled with the possibility of instant communication and anonymity, the potential for spread of terror through the use of social media is higher than ever, posing a threat to sovereignty and integrity of the country," he said.# Loans worth Rs 1,74,966 crores were written off by scheduled commercial banks in the last financial year of 2021-22.
