Parliament Winter Session Highlights: Defence Minister briefs Lok Sabha on the India-China clash in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. He says, "On December 9 in the Yangtse area of the Tawang sector, PLA troops encroached upon and attempted to change the status quo. This attempt was tackled by our troops in a determined manner. Our troops bravely stopped PLA from encroaching upon our territory and forced them to go back to their post."

The Opposition has demanded a discussion over the December 9 clashes between the Indian Army and China's PLA troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will brief both the Houses of Parliament on the recent clash.

The face-off resulted in "minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides, the Indian Army said.
"On December 9, PLA troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector which was contested by own (Indian) troops in a firm and resolute manner. This face-off led to minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides," the Army said in a statement.
