Modi 2.0: Union ministries may merge or dismantle, says report

According to a government official, the move is to impart more efficiency and speed to decision making by removing operational discords due to multiple departments, the report said.
Ministries like finance and agriculture are likely to get larger while ministries like heavy industries and public enterprises are likely to cut short or dismantled completely, the report said.
While one cabinet minister will be appointed, two or more minister of state will be required to share the workload under the ministry.
