    Maharashtra political crisis: The 15 Shiv Sena rebel MLAs and their families living in Maharashtra would be secured as the security blanket entails house protection teams, the officials said. Around four to five CRPF commandos, in shifts, would be present for each MLA's security once they are in Maharashtra, the officials added.

    The Central government on Sunday extended Y-plus security cover of commandos from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to at least 15 Shiv Sena rebel MLAs, officials said.
    Those provided security cover included Mangesh Kudalkar, Ramesh Bornare, Sanjay Shirsat, Prakas Surve, Latabai Sonawane and 10 others.
    The families of the rebel MLAs living in Maharashtra too would be secured as the security blanket entails house protection teams, the officials added.
    The security was sanctioned to the legislators following the Central security agencies' recommendations to the Ministry of Home Affairs, stating that the rebel MLAs and their families faced potential threats to their physical security owing to the current political scenario in Maharashtra.
    Around four to five CRPF commandos, in shifts, would be present for each MLA's security once they are in Maharashtra, the officials added.
    Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray is likely to address a rally around 6pm tomorrow in Govandi.
    Maha governor asks for protection for rebel MLAs
    Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari asked the Maharashtra DGP to provide protection to the family members of rebel MLAs.  He also wrote to the Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla regarding the same and also requested him to provide Central Security Forces if required.
    "We have provided police protection to the family members of all the MLAs who are in Guwahati. Cops are deployed outside their residence, offices and residence of their other family members," Maharashtra IG (Law and Order) Milind Bharmbe to CNBC-TV18.
    Eknath Shinde approaches SC against the deputy speaker's disqualification notices issued 
    According to the petition Shinde wants no decision to be taken on the disqualification of 15 rebel MLAs, a stay on disqualification petitions till issue of removal of Deputy Speaker is decided, stay on Deputy Speaker's rejection of no-confidence motion moved by Shinde's faction, the Centre and Maharashtra governments to give protection to the rebel MLAs and a stay on the appointment of Ajay Chaudhary as Leader of Shiv Sena Legislature Party
    Meanwhile, rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde approached the Supreme Court in the evening against the Deputy Speaker's disqualification notices issued to the rebel MLAs. A vacation bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala will hear the matter on Monday.
    Earlier in the day, Shinde had called for a meeting of the rebel MLAs in Guwahati, Assam to discuss the further strategies and legal aspects.
    Situation in Maharashtra
    Back in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena workers held a bike rally outside the Saamna office in Mumbai to protest against the rebel MLAs, while in Pune Shiv Sena workers held a protest against the rebel MLAs as well. Meanwhile, in Thane, Eknath Shinde's supporters painted over posters in support of Uddhav Thackeray.
    Uddhav had told Eknath Shinde to become CM last month: Aaditya Thackeray
    Shiv Sena leader and state minister Aaditya Thackeray said Maharashtra CM had called Uddhav Thackeray on May 20 and asked him if he wanted to become the CM. However, at the that time Shinde had refused and started weeping. A month later, he started a rebellion. Aaditya said the Shinde faction is not capable of a rebellion and that what they were doing was seperatism. He said they took the CM's ill health's undue advantage to do all this.
    Earlier in the day, Aaditya said that the party's doors were open for those that wanted to leave and those that wanted to return to the party. He said the rebel MLAs that are traitors would not be taken back into the party.
