As voting in the 17th Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 11, people in the Northeastern states will be the first ones to vote in the first phase of the elections, which will be held in seven phases. The results will be announced on May 23

As voting in the 17th Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 11, people in the Northeastern states will be the first ones to vote in the first phase of the elections, which will be held in seven phases. The results will be announced on May 23. While elections in five out of eight Northeastern states (Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim) are held in one phase, polls in Manipur, Tripura and Assam will be held in two and three phases, respectively.
