Lok Sabha election results 2019: BJP likely to surpass its 2014 tally in Assam, leads in 9 seats
Updated : May 23, 2019 11:32 PM IST
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is ahead in Assam, leading in nine of the 14 seats in the northeast state.
BJP's Rameswar Teli is leading in Dibrugarh, while AIUDF heavyweight Badruddin Ajmal has established a lead in Dhubri.
The exit polls predicted a close race in Assam, with the UPA narrowly edging the NDA. However, early indicators seem to negate the pollsters' predictions.
