In 2014, the BJP, dumped by Nitish Kumar, bagged 22 seats in Bihar, whereas its allies Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party mopped up six and three seats more, totalling a massive 31 seats for the NDA.
Bihar is an important state as it sends 40 MPs to the Lok Sabha. Bihar voted in seven phases on April 11, 18, 23, 29 and May 6, 12, 19.
Results showed BJP-JDU candidates took most of the 40 seats, with opposition parties winning in 8 seats.
Bihar recorded 53.06 percent and 58.14 percent turnout in first and second phase, while it was 60 percent in third phase, 58.92 percent in fourth phase, 57.86 percent in fifth phase, 59.38 percent in sixth phase and 53.55 percent in seventh phase.
