India celebrates November 26 as its Constitution Day (National Law Day) to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949. The Indian government declared November 26 as Constitution Day in 2015 on the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar, who had chaired the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly and played a pivotal role in the drafting of the constitution.
