Election Commission battles unprecedented flood of dirty money, seizures rise 3 times since 2014 elections

The EC has seized cash, drugs, alcohol and precious metals worth Rs 3,415 crore this election season, almost thrice as much as 2014.
Tamil Nadu tops the charts with Rs 950 crore seized, Gujarat second with Rs 550 crore worth of seizures.
With nearly Rs 4,000 crore worth of electoral bonds being purchased in 2019, money from illicit or unknown sources crosses $1 billion mark.
