The results are a resounding endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity, his government's achievements in the last five years and his campaign, which centred around national security and nationalism, according to experts.
A report by The Indian Express showed that the BJP-led NDA, in this Lok Sabha elections, was ahead in 71— or over 60 percent— seats in constituencies that cover the 115 districts identified by NITI Aayog as “aspirational”.
The most number of these districts fall in Bihar (13) and Jharkhand (19), and cover 12 constituencies each, said the report.

Jan Dhan Yojna
Launch: August 28, 2014
Purpose: To connect more and more peoples from the banking services. The scheme ensures access to a range of financial services like availability of basic savings bank account, access to need based credit, remittances facility, insurance and pension.
Make In India
Launch: September 28, 2014
Purpose: To promote manufacturing sector in the country. The program represents a comprehensive and unprecedented overhaul of out-dated processes and policies. Most importantly, it represents a complete change of the government’s mindset – a shift from issuing authority to business partner, in keeping with Prime Minister's tenet of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’.
Swachchh Bharat Mission
Launch: October 2, 2014
Purpose: Making India a clean country till October 2, 1919. The focus of the strategy is to move towards a ‘Swachh Bharat’ by providing flexibility to State governments, as sanitation is a State subject, to decide on their implementation policy, use of funds and mechanisms, taking into account state-specific requirements.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
Launch: January 22, 2015
Purpose: The goal of this scheme is to make girls socially and financially self-reliant through education. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao addresses the declining Child Sex Ratio and related issues of women empowerment over a life-cycle continuum. It is a tri-ministerial effort of Ministries of Women and Child Development, Health & Family Welfare and Human Resource Development.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
Launch: May 1, 2015
Purpose: Distribution of LED bulbs at a low price to reduce electricity consumption. This is a flagship project of the government where it wants every home in India to have these LED bulbs as soon as possible so that the net power or energy consumption rate comes down and the carbon emission rates can also be checked.
