Super stars who will not play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup

Football fans across the globe are eagerly waiting for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to begin in Russia. World's best teams face off against each other to win the most coveted trophy for the most followed game. It is eye pleasing to watch some of the greatest players in the planet take on each other.

However, the tournament will miss some of the prominent players due to various reasons such as injuries and inability of the national side to make the cut. Here is a look at some of these stars missing the world cup.

 Gianluigi Buffon:  Arguably, one of the greatest goal keepers in the history of the game, the talismanic Italian’s heroics made his country champions in the 2006 edition. However, in an anti-climax to an illustrious career Italy failed to qualify to what could have been his last world cup. (IANS)
