SUMMARY

The South Korean first lady, Kim Jung-sook, is in Uttar Pradesh where she is visiting the ancient city of Ayodhya. Kim, who arrived in India on a four-day visit, was scheduled to participate in Diwali festivities and the ground-breaking ceremony of a memorial for a Korean queen in Ayodhya. Ayodhya, the birthplace of the Hindu god Ram, also however, holds special significance for some South Koreans - many believe they can trace their ancestry to the city.
