Active COVID-19 cases in India breached the 29-lakh mark as the number of cases increased by 96,505 threatening to stretch the health infrastructure to the brink.

The national recovery rate has fallen below 83 percent and currently stands at 82.33 percent. On the other hand, the proportion of active cases constitutes 16.55 percent of the total infections. (Image: Reuters)

There is some encouraging news as well. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 14817371.
