Q: 30-year-old Harsha Vardhan writes to us from Hyderabad. Investing Rs 3,000 per month in Axis Long Term Equity - Direct(G), Kotak Select Focus Fund - Direct(G), Motilal Oswal Focussed 35 - Direct(G), Tata India Tax Savings Fund - Direct(G), L&T Emerging Businesses Fund - Direct(G) and Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund - Direct(G) since an year. Also suggest if I need to modify this a bit.

A: You can continue to invest in Kotak Standard Multi-cap Fund, Motilal Oswal Focused 35 and Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund. Axis Long-term Equity and Tata India Tax Savings are both ELSS funds and you should invest in ELSS funds only if your aim is to save tax. You can redeem from L&T Emerging Businesses Fund and invest in HDFC Small-cap Fund.
