Q: Rakesh Kumar Arora writes us from Vietnam. I am investing Rs 10,000 in HDFC Mid Cap, Rs 10,000 in HDFC Balanced, Rs 10,000 in SBI MidCap, Rs 5,000 in SBI BlueChip, Rs 5,000 in Kotak Select Focus, Rs 3,000 in SBI Healthcare and Rs 3,000 in L&T Infra via SIP. Some schemes are under my name and some under my wife’s name. Please suggest your view on the same.
A: The funds selected meet the investment criteria. Overall, the risk return profile is skewed towards higher risk through midcaps and sector funds, without the commensurate return enhancement. I would suggest that you consolidate the portfolio by giving up SBI MidCap and adding the same amount to SBI BlueChip. Also give up HDFC Balanced Fund and shift to Kotak Select Focus.
