Despite NBFC crisis, mutual fund houses see increase in equity investments

Fund houses invested a large portion of their assets, about 85 percent or Rs 10,480 crore in large cap stocks, while mid cap stocks saw an investment of 13 percent, or Rs 1,650 crore in the month of September.
The worst hit sector in September was the NBFCs and HFCs. While Dewan Housing Finance was among the most sold mid cap stock at 62 percent, state-owned LIC Housing Finance saw strong buying with about 42 percent of stocks bought by fund houses.
Mutual fund firms turned positive on small cap stocks which witnessed heavy trading. About 200 stocks were bought and sold on the list and about Rs 210 crore was invested in the month.
