Sensex, Nifty start flat; Bank of Baroda shares sink 12% post merger announcement

The NSE MidCap gained by 0.21 percent and the BSE MidCap rose by 0.26 percent.
Bank of Baroda shares tanked over 12 percent after the government announced merger with Dena and Vijaya Bank.
Rupee opened slightly lower against the US dollar at 72.55.
