Markets on Wednesday opened largely in the green with Reliance & TCS recording gains. The NSE Nifty was trading at 10,128 points while the BSE sensex stood at 33,410 points.
Though the market largely witnessed a positive trend, heavyweights like HDFC bank and ICICI bank were trading negative.
ICICI stocks have been facing the brunt with CBI registering a preliminary enquiry in the alleged deal between ICICI MD Chanda Kochhar's husband and Videocon chairman Venugopal Dhoot.
On global front, US stocks on Tuesday ended higher after sharp declines in the previous session.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average on Tuesday added 389.17 points, or 1.65%, to 24,033.36. The S&P 500 increased 32.57 points, or 1.26%, to 2,614.45, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 71.16 points, or 1.04%, to 6,941.28.
The benchmark indices on Tuesday closed at day's high. The BSE Sensex closed at 33,376 points and the NSE Nifty closed at 10,243 points.
