The market has opened on a positive note with the NSE Nifty trading at 10,773 points and the BSE Sensex, up by over 100 points, is trading at 35,287 points.
The auto stocks - Maruti, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto - are among the top index gainers after posting robust monthly sales.
The HCL Tech, however, is losing more than a percent in trade after posting its Q4 numbers as it failed to meet the Street's expectations.
The total rim sales for steel strips are up by 11.5% at 12.8 lakh units as against the 11.5 Lakh Units posted in the last year. The volume growth of the 10-11% range is expected to continue, indicating a boost for the steel firms in trade today.
On Monday, the Indian market largely closed higher as the HDFC twins and the IT stocks helped market hold on to the opening gains.
The market mildly erased its gains as heavy stocks - Reliance and Axis Bank dragged the indices.
The BSE Sensex closed with a gain of 191 points at 35,160 while the NSE Nifty advanced 47 points to close at 10,739.
IndiGo, Tata Power, Hero Motocorp, among others will declare their quarterly results today.
