The markets closed flat after a rangebound session with the Sensex closing 35,176 points and NSE Nifty above 10,700 at 10,716 points.
Vedanta and HCL Tech were the top losers in trade on Wednesday.
HCL Tech lost in trade post its Q4 results and Vedanta after the NCLAT said that the insolvency proceedings with Electrosteel Steels remain status quo.
Bajaj Auto was among the gainers after posting robust auto sales for April, while Kotak Mahindra was the top winner by gaining more than 5%, pulling up the Nifty Bank index in trade.
The Aviation stocks lost in trade after the IOC raised the jet fuel prices by over 6.5%, as compared to the previous month's rise.
The markets showed a slight recovery in trade, in the noon, after falling to its day's low in the first half of the day.
The IT stocks slipped in trade after HCL Tech missed the market estimates in its Q4 numbers. The stock has fallen to nearly 4% affecting its peers as Infosys and Tech Mahindra have lost over a percent in the opening hour.
