In this episode of What's Buzzing, chemicals maker Deepak Nitrite is buzzing in the trade after the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) recommended provisional anti-dumping duty on phenol imports from Thailand and the United States.
Earlier, Deepak Phenolics, Hindustan Organics and SI Group have approached DGTR complaining that imports are undercutting prices of domestic industry and are forced to sell phenol below the cost of production. India imports around $600 million worth of phenol every year.
