Closing Bell: Sensex ends above 35,000, Nifty at 10,557, indexes settle with 5% weekly gains, midcaps underperform, OMCs surge, IT stocks drag

The BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty50 ended higher in trade tracking positive global cues on Friday. The Sensex settled above the 35,100 mark, while the Nifty also closed above 10,500. Investor sentiment improved as crude oil prices dipped amid signs of US-China trade war concerns easing. Oil marketing companies and energy stocks were moved higher along with financials, metals, auto and consumer stocks. Some relative weakness was seen in the IT and pharma space.
