    At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex fell 71.53 points, or 0.18 percent, to 39,122.96, and the Nifty 50 declined 24.45 points, or 0.21 percent, to 11,699.65.

    Indian shares settled marginally lower on Monday following losses in global markets and concerns of delayed monsoon. Investors also turned cautious ahead of the first full Budget Narendra Modi government's second term due to be presented on 5 July.
    At the closing bell, the BSE Sensex fell 71.53 points, or 0.18 percent, to 39,122.96, and the Nifty 50 declined 24.45 points, or 0.21 percent, to 11,699.65.
    The Nifty midcap and smallcap indices also settled 0.3 percent lower. The broader market strength was negative with over 27 of the Nifty 50 stocks in negative territory.
    Among the sectoral indices, metal, energy and realty led losses by falling around 1 percent followed by auto, media and banking. FMCG and healthcare ended with gains.
    UPL, Yes Bank, M&M, State Bank of India (SBI) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were among the top gainers on the key indices, whereas ONGC, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, Tech Mahindra and JSW Steel were among the major losers.
    In global markets, European shares declined and as hopes waned for progress in China-US trade talks at this week's G20 summit and fears grew of a confrontation with Iran, reported Reuters.
    Pan-European STOXX 600 fell 0.2 percent, reflecting losses in Paris and Milan. Stocks in London were little changed. Germany's export-sensitive DAX fell 0.5 percent after a profit warning by Daimler caused its shares to drop nearly 5 percent.
