Benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE's Nifty 50 are expected to open marginally higher in line with global markets after US President Donald Trump said a trade deal with China is likely to happen soon. Rising oil prices and political uncertainties in the US may cap gains. Indian shares fell over 1 percent in the previous sesion following losses in global markerts. At 7:20 AM, the SGX Nifty futures traded 24 points, or 0.21 percent, higher at 11,499, indicating a positive start for the Sensex and the Nifty.

Coal India: A day-long strike by workers of state-owned Coal India led to a production loss of about 57 percent on Tuesday. Coal India and Singareni Collieries Company workers were on a day-long strike on Tuesday protesting the Centre's decision to allow 100 percent foreign direct investment in the two PSUs through automatic route. The strike call was given by five central trade unions namely INTUC, HMS, AITUC, CITU and AICCTU.
