Updated : January 29, 2019 06:42 AM IST

The dollar fell against a basket of currencies as traders awaited the Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting ending Wednesday and the results of US-China trade talks this week.
Apple's downward guidance two weeks ago, along with the announcements by Caterpillar and Nvidia, suggest the US-China trade war will affect more companies, said Kristina Hooper, chief global market strategist at Invesco.
US crude settled down 3.17 percent at $51.99 per barrel and Brent fell 2.77 percent to settle at $59.93.
