Indian shares ended with more than 2 percent of gains on Friday, as macro concerns ease on the back of easing crude oil prices, boosting risk appetite. Benchmark indexes surged higher along with broader and sectoral indices a day after panic selling amid global equity rout. Barring IT shares, all sectors moved higher with financials, auto and pharma leading. TCS shares moved down 3 percent a day after the IT major posted Q2 results along expected lines. Benchmark indexes, the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty50 ended Friday's trading session with the biggest single-day gains since May 2016. The Sensex closed 732 points higher, turning positive for 2018, while the Nifty closed above 10,470. Both indices moved more than 2 percent up, as macro-economic concerns eased as crude oil prices receded from the recent highs. All Nifty Bank stocks surged to end higher with HDFC and Kotak Mahindra banks as the top gainers. All major sectoral indcies closed with gains, except Nifty IT. Overall, just 4 Nifty stocks ended in the red with TCS being the biggest loser. Market breadth favoured advances with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 5:1.

Shares of SpiceJet traded at Rs 72.95, up by 3.84 percent. It hit the day's high at R s74.85, after opening at Rs 72.30. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Ajay Singh, chairman and chief executive officer, said fuel-efficient Boeing 737 Max planes are expected to bring down fuel costs of SpiceJet by about 14 percent and it's incredibly important when oil prices are going up. Benchmark indexes look set for strong closing with the NSE Nifty50 gaining 2.37 percent, or 244 points, to trade at 10,478.75. The BSE Sensex also climbed 2.17 percent, or 739 points, to trade at 34,740.

Shares of Career Point extended gains to the third consecutive session and surged 8 percent to a two-week high of Rs 73.85 after the company said it has bagged an order worth Rs 4.42 crore from Madhya Pradesh government to provide tutorial services for pre-engineering and pre-medical tests. Career Point will be offering test preparation services for Joint Entrance Examination and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test to scheduled tribe students, according to the contract. The government will provide all infrastructures to Career Point for the classes. TCS shares traded at Rs 1924.45, down by 2.79 percent at 1.16 pm on the BSE. TCS shares declined as much as 3.79 percent to Rs 1,904.80, their lowest level since July 11. India’s largest software exporter reported a 22.6 percent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 7,901 crore in the July-September 2018 quarter on Thursday beating estimates, helped by revenues from retail sector and banking, financial services and insurance clients.  Meanwhile, benchmark indexes sustained gains with the Sensex surging by 735 points, or 2.16 percent, to trade at 34,737. The Nifty too jumped 227 points, or 2.22 percent, to 10,462.
