Sensex opens 180 points higher, Nifty holds 10,800-mark; Vedanta surges 6%

The BSE Sensex opened 187 points higher at 36,179 points while the NSE Nifty opened 46 points higher at 10,851 points.
Vedanta surged 6 percent in early trade after the NGT order allowing the reopening of its Tuticorin plant.
