Raunak Onkar, co-fund manager - equity and head – research at PPFAS Mutual Fund, speaking to CNBC-TV18 said that they don’t chase high valuation, and only invest when comfortable with the prices and the rest of the conditions remain the same always.

On ITC, Onkar said, “It has been a while since ITC has not performed as a stock. We bought ITC after the lockdown and when the price was ridiculously low from our analysis. We thought that ITC does have a great run at a certain price, it made sense to add. We do think that the company can grow profitably at the same time make wise capital allocation choices now. From a business point of view, they are stronger than they were ever.”

On IT services sector, he said, “We did expand our exposure in IT, we added Oracle Financial Services, it is a banking product company. We also had Mphasis in the portfolio along with Persistent Systems for quite some time. In IT services we went with the midcap niche players who were focused on certain verticals, who were focused on certain kinds of businesses. We did not go with the larger managed services players.”

On banks, Onkar said, “We have been having banks in the portfolio at a much larger exposure close to 15 percent or so, we have it now close to 8 percent and we are stuck to the top three banks HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank only.”
